Italians recommend that you spend more than a day to discover
the beauty of Florence, and you will need at least a long weekend.
To get a room in Florence is quite difficult, especially if it’s
a spur of the moment decision. That’s why its wise to book
a fortnight in advance to save yourself from unwanted trauma. Tourists
fill the city because they all come to see the glorious beauty
of Florence. Often the more cost effective hotels can be full in
November, and the situation is that even in low season the hotel
prices remain high.
Driving to Florence is a little problematic at times. Along with
putting up with the crazing driving methods performed by the locals,
the police in Florence will not let you enter the city unless you
have a hotel booking or you need to unload your luggage somewhere.
Make sure if you book an hotel that its got some parking space
available.
There are many 5 star hotels throughout the city. The 5 star hotels
located on Piazza di Ognissanti are where the VIPs and politicians
stay when they come to Florence. There are also luxurious hotels
around Piazza della Repubblica and near the peaceful square of
Piazza DAzeglio.
If visiting Florence for business only, then maybe you will find
it easier to stay beside the airport on the main motorways.
For a three star choice, the area around Santa Maria Novella is
a good choice as well as on the banks of the Lungarni which can
be a good 10 minutes walk from the centre. Also the area around
the train station in Santa Maria Novella has many two and three
star hotels. Via Panzani and via Nazionale have a great choice
of reasonably priced hotels and many of these are in majestic palazzi,
and run by local families which give a warmer touch to your stay.
Of course our site offers the best rates and selection of hotels
in Florence
