Bars and Nightclubs

With a significant number of bars, clubs and discos available, people in Florence can enjoy nightlife all week, one can stay out until all hours of the night partying. But if its a quiet night you want, try out Il Caffe in Piazza Pitti, or even the Hemingway near the Chiesa del Carmine. Why not play a game of chess at Il Genius.

Bars that are quite busy are Zoe, Dolce Vita and Porfirio Rubirosa are lively spots that are mostly crowded, while Cafe Caracol has a latina feel.

For the wine lover, check out Pitti Gola or Cantina. For the pint drinker head off to the William Pub or even the Chequers pub are British style pubs, which are also very popular with locals as well as tourists and have great music.

The Clubs and discos are in plentiful supply. The Meccanu is popular with all types of celebrities, and the Andromeda promises a great night out. A rock bar such as Tenax or Flog will keep you head banging until late. Pongo near the Teatro Verdi is a great spot for late night entertainment, while Il Lidu on the banks of the Arno usually are full to the rafters at weekends.

Le Vie di Fuga is an old disused prison, that appeals to the masses, and then Il Sottosopra disco beside Santo Spirito and il Carmine is well recommended. For rare funk, Afro beat and Brazilian head off to the H202. For soul music go to Soul Cities beside the fortress. If its a good night out with lots of entertainment, sociable surroundings and beautiful people all around, get yourself out into the Florentine nightlife and experience it for yourselves.
